The Snook Inn is a delightful little waterfront dining establishment on Marco Island. Under new leadership, the Snook Inn has intrigued locals with its bold menu and has drawn water lovers with its accessibility by boat. Snook Inn is a Marco Island treasure.
Where is Marco Island?
You might be asking, where is Marco Island? Marco Island is located on the southernmost fringes of the Gulf of Mexico and Florida. It is the last inhabited island of the state, with nothing but wetlands and Everglades further south. It is a top Florida island destination, and one of acclaimed golfing, beautiful beaches, and more. The Marco Island beaches, in particular, attract many annual visitors. Dolphins are often sighted from the shore and the beaches are known for collecting big and intact shells.
The Snook Inn sits right on the water, giving you all the pleasures of the Marco Island beach with an epic plate of seafood in front of you.
New Ownership
Snook Inn has been a part of the community for about 30 years. But now, the waterfront restaurant is newly reopened under new ownership. The team who runs the Snook Inn is the same as local favorite Davinci’s, the acclaimed Marco Prime, and the popular Oyster Society.
The Vibes
The owners sought to retain the very casual and laid back feeling of the restaurant. But it is definitely very touristy. It captures a lot of that Florida island appeal- bright colors, welcoming dishes, and seasonal entertainment over the water. You can sit outside or indoors depending on the heat and rain. If you are looking for a quiet dinner, Snook Inn is not the answer. But for an entertainment-filled afternoon of music, this is the place
The Music
Speaking of entertainment, there is live music just about every afternoon and evening from Thursday through Sunday. This includes the solo musicians and bands, notably BOZ, the Richmond, Patrick Jerome, Bill Beck, and Elliot West. The music ranges from country to ’70s and 90’s rock hits, with a few originals to contemporary covers of rock, folk, and pop. Plus, you’ll just about always here a fun island jam or two!
The Menu
This is dockside Florida cuisine, through and through. It includes Hawaiian Tuna Poke, Crispy Calamari, and Chilled Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail as starters. Select littleneck clams and peels and eat shrimp from the raw bar. Everything from the raw bar includes healthy splashes of lemon and raw horseradish. Of course, you have Luau Salmon, Shrimp Denny, Seafood Scampi, and other main seafood entrees.
You can find other dining places in Marco Island, but few are as immediately big, loud, and fun as Snook Inn. What makes the restaurant especially charming is its constant flow of customers pulling boats up to the dock and walking right on in. Contact us for the possibility of driving your boat from one of our vacation rentals on Marco Island with a dock and driving right to the restaurant!
