Founder Memorial Park
Founder Memorial Park is located near some of the best Marco Island beaches, making it the perfect place to spend the day. You’ll find beautiful nature as well as wide open spaces to soak in the sun or run with the kids and pets. This family park is a great central location for you to begin your day, then head into town to explore further.
Jane Hittler Park
Jane Hittler Park is located along N. Collier Boulevard and is one of the quaintest spots in the area. It has some incredible fishing opportunities and a walking path for you to get close to nature. Bring a picnic basket and grab a table for your afternoon meal, then wander the grounds or catch some rays. It’s also close to Tigertail Beach if you feel like taking a dip in the water. Be aware that there is no parking available here.
Marco Island Racquet Center
You’ll find the Marco Island Racquet Center at the intersection of Heathwood and San Marco Roads. Come get some exercise with a fun game of racquetball, pickleball, or tennis. If you don’t have your own equipment, you may rent it from the facility. You can take up a quick, informal game or plan to play in a more structured social event. Additionally, private and group lessons are available.
Veterans’ Community Park
This beautiful space draws locals and tourists alike for various events throughout the year, but even if there’s nothing special happening, Veterans’ Community Park is still a wonderful place to spend the afternoon. If you’re visiting from November through April, be sure to stop by on Wednesday for the Farmers’ Market! The park is located at 901 Park Avenue.
Leigh Plummer Park
At 400 N. Barfield Drive, you’ll find Leigh Plummer Park, a spot known for great fishing. There’s tons of space for the kids to run, and walking paths are ideal if you’re bringing your furry friend along. Note that this space does not have any bathroom facilities, so be sure to plan ahead.
Frank E. Mackle Park
Perhaps one of the best parks in Marco Island, Frank E. Mackle Park is located at 1361 Andalusia Terrace. This popular park has something for everyone in the family, no matter the age or interest. Little ones will love the playground and large grassy space, while older kids can enjoy the teen center and sports courts. Everyone can sit down for a picnic lunch, run through the water spray park, or take a walk along the paths.
Calusa Park
Located on Winterberry Drive, Calusa Park is especially appealing to the nature lover. The best feature of this park is the butterfly garden, where you can get up close and personal with the gorgeous native wildlife. There’s also a walking path for you to take a stroll, and a convenient picnic area provides the perfect spot for your lunch or snack.
Winterberry Park
Also located along Winterberry Drive is Winterberry Park, a popular spot for sports. The baseball and softball fields make great spots to gather with the locals and other visitors, and you can also pick up a game of soccer or football. There are a convenient bathroom and picnic facilities on site, and many visitors report spotting eagles!
